I believe this happens more than most would believe. I personally know of several cases of it happening when I worked. (To other guys). It`s just kept quiet and buried. Think about it. How many of us have lost your wallet`s?

I just don't understand leaving your DUTY weapon in the bathroom. Is your holster that comfortable? I was in LE 11 yrs, yeah, I went to the bathroom a few times, and NEVER forgot my weapon. Sheesh!

I was a guard for a huge factory. One of the other guards left his gun in a bathroom. A mentally slow janitor found it and got on the PA system for whoever that left it there to get in touch with him. The guard that left it there was a reserve cop on a nearby PD. I knew of a couple other incidents too.

I read where he doesn't carry when off duty, and supposedly that's why he didn't notice it. My guess is he knew he was in trouble. I am suspicious (in general) of cops that don't carry a gun off duty.
