I agree.
That's a bit pricey.
You could find a stainless new model in that bbl length (in my region anyway) for the same or less $. Possibly with original box and factory wood.

I have a stainless steel and a blue 357 , both 4 5/8”.I just thought I’d like to have the Liberty model. I have a M77 30-06 Liberty my dad bought for me new.

I love those guns in that barrel length.
I have a 1981 stainless that was a high school graduation gift in that same year.
I've since added a convertible stainless and a 2ond year flattop 4 digit serial number.
The flattop had a chip out of the right side grip panel when I bought it, but found the one I needed from a member on here and it looks like a new gun.
I'm going to have to shoot it this year.

A Liberty gun usually only adds about $50 to the value IF,, IF the gun is ANIB. But in the case of the pictured gun,, if the stags are real stag,, then $650 isn't too high. If the grips are plastic or whatever,, it's too high.
I never thought those grips might be real stag! If anything, they lower the value since you just have to throw them away and buy real Ruger grips ;)

They have that Jay Scott laminated look to me.
While we mostly feel that the price it too high, I can understand akmania's desire to have the "Liberty" model.
It's the ole "pucker factor" that many of us have fallen to. I say BUY IT akmania..... no one has to know :-)))))

For many the “Liberty” is way overblown since ALL made in 76 were Liberty.
Like when Harley had their 100th Anniversary in 03 and nearly ALL the bikes were 100th models.

Hey! I LIKE Jay Scott grips, especially the pearl ones, then again I like trashy gals too :-)
I always figure it depends on how long you intend to keep it and how much you want it. If you're going to keep it at least 20 years then a hundred bucks doesn't matter and if you really want it then the same applies.
Yeah, but we're still talking "pucker factor" which negates all reason...... understandably so...:)

Bought my Single Six convertible in 76 and really never paid much attention about the Bicentennial stamping at the time. Later got a Blackhawk 4-5/8" .357/9mm convertible from a local knife maker (Bob Lofgreen)also have several of his knives. Third two were a .357 stainless 4-5/8" & 6-1/2", then along came a 10/22 with the Bicentennial stamped.
See them on auctions sites quite often but prices are all over the place.

You want to tell if they are real stag grips or plastic. Remove one and on the backside take a heated pin and press. If it is plastic it will melt .
