Longmire

I really enjoyed it but it did get a little tiring near the end... still can't get around Gerald McRaney being a totally evil bad guy.
There were a few times when Longmire should have just shot the bad guy with his 1911 but instead decided to fight him..... but you know it is television....

Great show, and a really good "gun guy" show. I forget the details but remember one episode where it was relevant to an investigation that the Model 70 is available in .375 H&H, and Longmire knew that, presumably because he's a generally informed gun guy.

Then there was the time where his daughter had to learn in a hurry that not all centre-fire lever actions have a loading gate.

It's nice to see little details like that when other shows have gross errors like talking about safeties on Glocks and double action revolvers.

I could not stand her, made me sick when they road off into the sunset. I was cheering for the one he met in about the third season or so, but she disappeared. Katie doesn’t shake my tree at all !

It was filmed in Las Vegas, NM but "Longmire Days" were in Buffalo, WY near where the author lives. Yeah, I like it.

I’ve not watched Longmire. Is it similar to Justified? Which was a great tv show.

If you watch tv that is… 😀
Longmire was a sheriff in Wyoming. He solved a lot of murders. He couldn't manipulate a 1911 up to internet standards - which always upset a few - but it's TV so who cares. Had some entertaining characters but none compared to Boyd Crowder. Justified also had better looking women. All in all, I would rank Justified as the better of the two but I liked Longmire probably because the books were good. At least the first books were anyhow.

Thanks!

I watched all the episodes, 10 years ago? It was very entertaining. Not realistic small SO police work but heck it's TV. Longmire (Robert Taylor) is Australian, I wondered why an America actor was not picked. Taylor did a great job playing the Longmire.
Taylor played the owner of a ranch (station) in Australian released in 2024. 6 shows in the series named "Territory". Lots of action and drama. I liked it just as much or better. Filmed in Australian, the scenes of the back country are worth watching.

Never watched it. My wife got me a few of the novels, they were pretty good. I can't seem to stay interested in a tv series but I do like reading them. Elmore Leonard is another one I like. not a series but good reading in IMO
