Is there a way to change out the standard single action grip frame and hammer and install a Bisley grip frame and hammer?

Thanks

Is there a way to change out.....

Yup, you need a good screwdriver.

Finding the parts may become a challenge.

My lipsey's 44 spl has a power custom number 5 grip frame partially fitted to it and a bisley hammer in the box next to it...

Aggie,

I also have a #5 frame by Powers along with hammer. Could you PM me with pics and details of your project. This may be a way to go which I had not considered.

Thanks

Pics of mine in this stage would help noone.

BigMuddy got it right, IMO. Mine will have a ruger hammer instead of a PC hammer, so it will have the hump, or skirt, above the backstrap. and the hammer will be CCH instead of jeweled.

Here is how a chat with a gunsmith goes on a project like this:
Me: lets fit a no. 5 gripframe!
GS: takes rebluing the cylinder frame too, then the polish level won't quite match on the barrel and cylinder.
Me: so I guess we need to polish and reblue the barrel and cylinder too? I guess we should BP chamfer the cylinder and customize the front sight base and blade too.
GS: that would work.
Me: call you when I get a job.
GS: don't forget the custom grips.

Here is my Lipsey gun with the Power #5 grip frame and a Ruger Bisley hammer.
I still need to have the grip frame blued.

Very nice Mike,

Who did the work?

Thanks Aggie for the info.

By far the easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to buy a Lipsey's Bisley 44 special and sell your gun.

Oops, I forgot that the Lipsey's flatop is stainless, your talking stainless right? So yes the gripframe, hammer, and trigger, can be replaced if you can find the parts. I think that's true. 8) 8)
