someone got ripped off, to good to be true, it's not. everything about it is wrong, first shows zero aging. duh. seems like it's a to late box to be stuck to. mid sixtys...not good. unless it's a mid sixtys return gun. "S" ??? redine shipped box. but still looks to "made up"

Thing that struck me was the sticker boxes were “supposedly” used near the end of lightweight production but the box clearly shows a 202049 serial number which would be a tri-color and nearer to the beginning of LW productions… I am by no means an expert on this so am I totally out in left field here?
Please enlighten me, inquiring minds want to know

Same serial # range on this one.......................

But compare the letter spacing etc.
Also, the new sticker above, the address doesn't line up on both ends.
I don't think the sticker box in the recent auction is correct. Note also the sticker length isn't the same... that should be a giveaway I would think.
But I'm glad you posted a pic of yours... note how your sticker was taped to the box on both ends.
But this also brings up a good point on serial number range, perhaps those that are genuine were done by Ruger as they were waiting on the blackwreath boxes to come from the printer. That is pretty much the range where it went from green wreath to black wreath.

The parentheses around Single-Six made me pass, notice on the eBay box they look like 66 and 99 instead of 99 forwards and backwards as in the picture provided by Jaydawg! I am not saying it is a fake, it just was different enough to make me pass at that money.

Could be legitimate and just done later on and the factory had the gun laying around and sold it off years later, who really knows. The only way is to ask the factory when that serial number shipped to be sure what you should be comparing that box to.

Good eye!!
And I do agree with all of the observations about sticker length, the "R", letter spacing, box to nice, ect.
My thoughts on these differences are.............We are talking about 60-70 years ago and they didn't have a template saved in Microsoft Office, so perhaps made as needed and this is a one off?
Yes likely faked, and not necessarily by the seller, maybe 20-30 years ago.
But.........as I have heard before......Never say never with Ruger :p
