Last year my daughter Samantha, then 12 years old, went to a Taylor Swift party. Taylor has a "T" party after every concert, where she invites around 6 groups of fans to join her backstage for photos, autographs, and a chance to meet her and her band members. Son of a gun if Samantha didn't get picked. She was told it was due to her enthusiasm and poster she made, that made her stand out.

This year, Samantha also got to go to the concert. After telling her how fortunate and lucky she was to get in last year, we told Samantha the odds were stacked pretty high against her to get picked again. Samantha didn't want to hear anything negative about it. She worked diligently on her poster.

She had lights, pictures of the band members and Taylor, and all kinds of glitter, sparkles, and other fancy stuff. It is the "Speak Now" concert tour. That is what is spelled out in the heart shape of Samanthas poster. Taylors film crew was so impressed with the poster they filmed Samantha holding it and played it on the giant screen in the Verizon center.

Well, here's the lightning part. Against all odds, darned if she didn't get picked again ! Guess I'm taking Samantha out to buy some lottery tickets !

Samantha and my wife are on the right, and my wifes friend and her son, are on the left.

Reminds me of the old saying, "Never tell someone they can't do something! You"ll probably get run over by them doing it ." Samantha has run me over so many times, I feel like roadkill   Proud roadkill, at that !

How very cool, Tank!

That Taylor Swift is a real big shot, and pretty talented too. What I really admire about her is that she is a self-made star. She wasn't picked by some producer and built into a star through the efforts and expenditures of a huge media empire, like so many young singers/actors. She built her own success through talent, hard work, and lots of persistence. (Kind of like how your daughter won the chance to meet her... twice!)

In addition to her musical talent, Taylor has lots of business savvy. She personally handles all aspects of her live performances, from stage design to choreography and many other concerns. Obviously she can't do it all herself, but she's directly involved in some way with everything. And I understand she's always been very good to her fans. She is one star who I feel sets a good example for her millions of young admirers.

Samantha is a very talented young lady, when she was here last year I was very impressed with her. When she took a photo she wanted everything & everybody just right, then she would make the shot. Speaking of shots, she took my 10 shot S&W revolver with a red dot sight & out shot a bunch of older women, she kept shooting, even after dark.
Tank, now I can see where Samantha got here looks from, your wife is lovely. I'm saying Samantha, then your wife, then Ruger, then Tank!

Samantha, that is so cool! Congratulations! I'm looking forward to seeing you in a couple weeks when you and your dad visit! Michelle, Frankie and Ethan are looking forward to meeting you too. We will have a fun weekend shooting!
