hI,
does anyone have a set off original super blackhawk simulated ivory grips ( the ones made for ruger by lett manufacturing co. that are now out of business ) for a new model super blackhawk with the dragoon style square trigger guard for sale or know of a source that might still have some around?
Thanx,

I apologize for not responding sooner.......

I don't follow the current production stuff very well, but try www.ruger.com
If no luck there, then look at the web sites of the many grip producers.

Some of the "custom" grip producers make "American Holly" grips that look like aged ivory and not PLASTIC like the simulated ivory grips....

Just a thought.......

Hogue made the last batch of simulated ivory Super Blackhawk grips. Weren't very good fits to the gun though. MANY PEOPLE DISAPPOINTED.

Ruger wants 60 bucks for the ones for sale now. Seems more than they are worth to me. I don't know who makes them now.

I dunno... $60 for 7 cents worth of molded plastic (about half-second production on an injection molder). But you get the MEDALLION!!! :D

Seriously look for some American Holly or even bleach/dye a set of factory beaters. White Micarta is getting as expensive as real ivory in some places.

If you want white grips that are tougher than nails, Go with some ivory micarta and have CaryC make them. The corian ones that Ruger had made by Lett breaks very easily.

If you decide to stick with Lett grips, I highly recommend a spacer on the grip screw.

I bought 2 pairs of these, and they don't fit very well. I'm keeping them, but I won't buy any more.
