I got an lc9 one week ago. When I went to the range last week to try it out I notice the rear sight got very loose. I stop shooting after 70 round because i was afraid it would fall off. When I got home i tighten it up and called ruger. The lady I taked to advised me to take the rear sight pin out and clean it and use some blue loctice on it. I didn't do that yet and today I read this.

DO NOT completely remove the socket head screw from the rear sight and try to remove the sight. The rear sight is used to hold the hammer lock, hammer lock spring and spring guide pin in place. The set screw is directly on top of the guide pin and spring. If you completely remove the set screw, the guide pin will be lifted up into the set screw hole and when you move the sight it will shear the pin in half.
I contacted Ruger and they are sending me a new pin. They said that the proper way to move the sight is to only loosen the set screw 1/4 turn so the set screw will keep the spring slightly compressed and the guide pin will clear the rear sight.
Should have been noted in the instructions. The instructions say nothing about the sights other than that they are adjustable. "
Have anyone eles have problems with the rear sight getting loose?
