While adding to my inventory I noticed a change on the boxes for the LC9. Couple months ago I received 4 and one box was different. So I made note of the serial number (320-65503). I just received a few more and noticed to box was still missing the LC9 print. My serial number 320-00059 shows the first type printing while serial number 320-99603 shows the other type missing the LC9. Another note serial number 320-99603 looks to be very close to the end of the 320 prefix so I am sure my next bunch of LC9's will most likely have a 321 prefix. Chad I am not sure if this information maybe something to list in your reference manual.

Rick...yes, send me a PM of the sn info you've had there with the highest non LC9 printed box and the earliest LC9 marked box (320-65503, right?)

I noticed a change with the front sight on the LC9 recently. My LC9 (serial number 320-18211) has a screw holding it in place & two LC9's that have come through the shop recently (serial numbers 321-232xx & 321-4xx) have no screw . It appears to be a stake or pin in the same location where the screw is on my LC9 (top forward portion of the front sight). Check it out & share your comments.

My LC9 front sight has a pin/rod.... I just got it a month ago for my very first gun.. I now own 2 more with a sr22 pistol on the way ....Marlin 60 for my 3rd gun.. remington 870 will be my last for a while..

Just happen to have the box handy...

Im a 321--13918 and have a ruger only box...Red dot

Ok - bought a new LC9 and went to a CCW class to add to my permit. 12th round down range and the front site is laying on the ground. My LC9 had a the front site with no pins/screw... just drifted in. Sent it back and now it has a set screw installed. Ordered 12 more LC9's for stock and all have the pin style that LMD talks about. Not sure what/when the change came about but hopefully they are all coming out with a solid installed front site. GW

My LC9 is not pined or screwed. 320-94XXX
No LC9 on top of box.
I would like to see a picture of the ones that are screwed or pined in.

Thank You

I have 320-27407.
Pin in front sight.
LC9 is printed on the box.
Case fired date: 04-01-2011

When I look at the pin on the front sight through a jewelers loop it appears to be hollow.

End label on my box is done in the same font as the 320-00059 pic above.

The same thing is happening with the SR1911... Newer ones are using a generic "Ruger" box. Mine (SN -09712) has the "SR1911" box. I've seen SN -118xx in the generic box.

If I were doing that, it might be because I want to use the box for some other kind of gun, question is what could it be?????

I think they are changing the boxes so that they can use the same box for multiple models...seems like they will standardize on multiple size boxes which will handle all the different offerings and lower printing costs, too.

Just a guess...
