Does anyone know which Ruger revolvers the Pa State Police used back when revolvers were king.
Am I even right thinking they were Rugers? Seems most law enforcement had S&W but for some reason I seem to remember PSP with Rugers

Thanks

I would venture to say they were most likely Service Sixes or Security Sixes. The era when revolvers were king was winding down by the time the GP's came out.

See here for this:

"In June 1980, department members were issued a new sidearm, the .357 magnum Ruger, a stainless steel, four inch barrel revolver. It was the first major change in State Police issued weaponry in its 75 year history."

That would have to have been a stainless Security Six. The web site does not say what was issued before. In '93 they went to .40 Berettas.

How in the heck did you know or guess that ??? 8) 8)

Scroll way down:

They were Security Six. I just purchased a low back a couple months back and had a long conversation with the retired State Police who sold it to me and carried the same gun while on duty.

Never even thought to look on their website. Amazing what one can find online.

Then Security Six it is.
Thanks
