Hi,

Just heard that about two minutes ago on the radio. Joe was a unique talent, from the Woodstock days on thru over four decades. Lots of good memories there! Thank you, Sir Joe: we'll get by with a little help from your friends, but it won't be the same! May you rest in peace.

back in the winter of 70-71 I was living in Tulsa and Mad Dogs was doing rehearsals at Leon Russell's home near Woodward Park. The band members would hang in the park and play Frisbee and softball. I got invited by Bonnie Bramlett to come sit out back of Leon's house and listen to them. "Cry Me A River" and "Ticket For An Airplane" were the songs they did that day.

RIP Joe. When I saw that last night on the TV, I thought of him and John Belushi in that SNL skit, it was so funny.

Joe looked like he could barely keep from cracking up as John Belushi sang and imitated him in the skit.
Always good to be able to laugh at yourself.

Yeah, that is a great song - from the movie, "Harry & The Hendersons". Last movie I watched with my Dad, shortly before he passed away. I still get emotional when I hear it. And now I have another reason to get teary-eyed over it. RIP, Mr. Cocker.

Not only was he a great performer with a very unique style, he and his wife raised cattle in Colorado and they started a foundation for kids including a summer camp and they were big supporters of education. He was an example of someone doing something positive with his talent and money. Another one of the great ones is gone.

Joe & Pam live about 30 miles from us and have met them both in the past at fund raisers. They hold auctions for there "Cocker Needy Childrens Foundation" all the time and they help a lot of Kids. It is going to be real hard for Pam and Joe, RIP dear friend.
