I need a bit of help determining the production date on a Winchester 9422. Since I don't collect Winchesters, and the Blue Book lists a different bunch of this model, w/o a reference to how to figure out which one is which, I need a bit of help.
It's a 9422 with the serial number F22276X
If anybody had a Winchester reference guide, please enlighten me as much as you can about this one.
Thanks in advance!

Do a lot a research before pricing. Winchester rimfire lever actions have brought some surprisingly high prices recently. Most always over book value. I have a 94/22 mag. Was offered a grand for it. See them go for around 800 on a regular basis. Used to be a 400 to 500 dollar gun tops.

The date would be late 1974. It sounds like you have the Model 9422 XTR Traditional model based on the date. The early models Pre-XTR had no checkering. They will bring more. Book values would be $750 in excellent to $300 in 90% condition. If pre-XTR add about 10% to 15% to the value.
At auction these are bringing great value currently. I would think the $800 to $500 depending on condition would not be a stretch. I think I have a catalog from 1974. I will try t hunt it down.
