Was browsing my usual haunt's used stuff and see they had a Single Six Hunter in .17 caliber. Ask if it was a convertible and had the .17M2 cylinder. It wasn't. Deal or not ($375), I passed and let someone else grab it. A yr ago, I'd have just filled out the paperwork and gone home with it. Just gotta have strength... Can't let them win. There is hope! :lol:

I passed on a Color case Bisley Vaquero with 5 1/2" barrel and chambered in 45LC yesterday because it was in a Kansas side of the city dealer and I would have to pay for transfer to my favorite Missouri side of the city dealer to take posession. It was very clean for $500 with original box, but I would have had to pay probably $40-50 in transfer fees and Overland Park Ks 9% sales tax

Just curious. I tend to think it's really restrictive up north. What paperwork is necessary in Maine? Seems like a "do it for yourself" type state like here in KY. Beautiful area you live in. Lots of history and attraction for a man such as myself. Don

It is nice. Have had chances to move and always passed. Have beaches, rocky coast, mountains, lakes, woods all within a short drive. 4 reason seasons to enjoy too. (Christmas isn't Christmas w/o snow) Yea, lots of historic stuff too. 8)
Tallbald, Though I was raised in Maine but was away for 40 years before moving back, I've always felt the same way about Kentucky. I have two good buddies there, one in Leitchfield and the other in Columbia. Did a lot of quail and squirrel hunting there over the years. I always found the people to be great and some of the best "cooking" in the world there! If I wasn't living in Maine, I'de be living in Kentucky................Dick :wink:
