Actually, pressure has do direct effect on recoil. Recoil results from bullet mass and velocity. A given combination of mass and velocity can be achieved by some cartridges better than others, but there will be no difference in recoil.
To put it another way:
Consider two guns of identical weight, dimensions, barrel length, grip shape, etc. One is a smaller caliber with a long bullet of say, 200 gr. The other (hypothetical) gun is a much larger caliber that also shoots a 200 gr. bullet. Obviously this bullet will be much shorter than the first. The difference in secitonal density between these two bullets will have major implications to their respective external balistics and terminal performance, and the shorter/fatter bullet will require less pressure to achieve a given velocity. But there will be no difference in recoil between the two.
200 gr. @ 1200 fps = a certain level of recoil, regardless of how it gets there.
Pressure is an important consideration for many things, but not for recoil.

I agree completely. I was surprised the first time I shot a 45 ACP. My previous experience had been with 9mm, 40 S&W, and revolvers (mainly .357), and I found the slow 230 grain 45's to be quite pleasant.
My point in the earlier post was that recoil is a product of bullet weight and velocity; pressure has no direct bearing on it.

I think you still don't get it. "Extended" recoil results from a slower bullet, not from lower chamber pressure. It may seem purely a matter of semantics since less pressure=lower velocity when all other factors are equal, but I think it's important to be clear on this.
Also, the fireball has nothing to do with pressure. It is determined by the powder's burn rate (among other factors). That burn rate also directly influences pressure, but it's incorrect to say the lower pressure itself is what reduces muzzle flash.

All 3 calibers are going to snap the revolver up anyway. May as well have a 425 gr .475 bullet coming out the other end to meet the big brown fuzzy with teeth and fangs.
