I thought something a little more lite hearted may be in order, so......... my grandfather lived to be about 6-8 months short of a 101. WWI vet, worked on the farm, lumber mills, Oil Well supply in his early life, that would be 1898 up through the 20's. Then sold cars the rest of his life, over 60 years, used cars. He would drive a different one home every week, take it around to people he knew, "are you interested in this, well go ahead and take for the weekend and let me know what ya think" Do you really think that would fly today? Anyways he was a great story teller, about the war, the farm, huntin', by the way the last time he hunted was with my dad and I, he was 95, he finally quite driving at 94, but anyways, he would ask me how smart my teachers were in school. I'd kinda shrug my shoulders, who knows? "well", he'd say, "ask them if they are smart enough to figure this math problem out" he would continue, "If it takes a wagon load of pumpkin to build a rod of stone fence, how many grains of powder do you have to shove up a bull's a$$ to blow his horns off?" :D :? :? :D I always thought it was a great story, just wanted to share, God Bless, Coogs.

When I was 15 I worked the summer on a Dude Ranch staffed mostly by young adults. I still remember working with a good old boy from Tennessee, who posed a similar riddle. " If it takes a half a chicken a half a day to hatch a dozen eggs, how long does it take a rooster sittin' on a keg of nails to hatch a hardware store?" Ans: "Eighteen days. Why? Because Ice cream don't have bones." Never forgot. I'm thinking of making it my epitaph.

If a hen and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, how many Aunt Jemima pancakes does it take to shingle a Chinese outhouse?

I have no idea.

an 8 pound can of H110?

My calculator doesn't have buttons for pumpkins and bulls so I had to work it out with pencil and paper.
You're going to need something faster burning than H110. I'd go with Bullseye, or at least WW231/HP38.

But ya gotta understand that it was a 90+ year old man delivering you this problem...............................imagine the situation. I love all the other stories about chickens and a half and so on and so on................was the response I was expecting and was hoping for. Brings back a lot of good memories of our childhood, doesn't it? God Bless you all, let's hear some more, Coogs.

My Father used to always ask the question, "What's the difference between a hard-boiled egg...?"

And the answer was, "A truck...because a car has 4 doors."

I have no idea where he picked that up.

Can't be Bullseye - that's for the wrong end. Maybe Red Dot?

Take it from me, Chinese outhouses aren't shingled.
