What kind of shipping would cost that much? Was one of the Royal family going to bring it to you in a limousine and walk up to your door on a red carpet strewn with rose petals?

Those shipping prices are way over the top. Sounds like they are using shipping charges to get more for the gun AND not pay as much in GB fees.
I missed a 4" Security-Six a few weeks back. A local sale ad, asking $400 for a stainless one. Sadly,, I was the second person to reply. The first guy took it.

I remember 20-some years ago (back when there were newspapers) being the second caller to a guy selling a barely used Colt Anaconda for $400.

I agree with what Dan said about the Herrett's although I modified the ones I used to have by cutting them off leaving about 1/8" on the bottom and rounding the edges. They were a great grip until I got the stags and tyler then they went to someone else.

I had withdrawn the money for the USPS MO already before she added shipping at checkout.. Next day walked into my indoor range & saw a Colt Detective Spec. 1978 tagged $699. Settled on $650 and left with it. Very nifty little six shooter.

Ouch.
I saw the ad,, and responded immediately. I didn't NEED it,, nor did I really want to spend the money at that moment as I was saving for something else. But I was not about to let a sweet deal pass me by. Well, I got beat to the draw. Wasn't meant to be.
