looking at a security six to buy,what model would it be it has wide brass/gold trigger and a grip finger insert on the front of the grip.

I do not know of (or have ever seen) any Six series revolvers that were ever produced with any type of brass/gold trigger (unless it was a one off specially made by Ruger for someone). Since it also has a finger insert installed on the frame, I would guess that they were installed by a previous owner. The frame addition is a probably a Tyler T Grip, they were/are very popular to install on a Six series gun, but I have no idea who might have made the trigger.
If it has adjustable sights, it would be a Security Six. If fixed sights and a rounded grip frame, it would be a Speed Six, if a "square" frame and fixed sights, it would be a Police Service Six.

Sounds like somebody added a Tyler T Grip and Trigger Shoe.
Tyler offers the grips in black and silver and gold …… polished or matte.

If the gun is clean, clear barrel, no rust under the grips and $400 I wouldn't let it out of my hand until the transaction was complete. Post pics when you get it. You can try the S/N, if you have it, in the S/N lookup on the Ruger website but don't hold your breath. Or PM it to anyone that has the RENE and they can look it up for you.
Being in PA, $400 for any of the Six series revolvers is a great price if it is in decent condition. Even if it is a bit rough, still a good price as it can be refurbished pretty easily.

My interest is in stainless steel Security, Service, and Speed Sixes. I would jump on any of those for $400 as long as they have good bores and mechanicals.
A scratchy finish may be able to be restored by hand but I could live with that.

Thank you,the gun is in nice shape all appears to be functioning properly.Im picking it up on tuesday.
RoninPA ,would you be interested in giving the gun a good looking over and advise me if it needs any work, would rather pay you for your time and knowledge ,I would rather put money into a classic than a new revolver.I”m 31/2 hours east on 80 Snydersville/Stroudsburg.

Well, it doesn't seem like I can send you a message... so:
I would be glad to look it over and see if it needs anything done to it. I am just outside State College (I can see PSU's Beaver Stadium from my front porch). Would you be bringing it or shipping it to me? Either way, when I'm done I can ship it directly back to you as I am an FFL and by federal law, repaired firearms can be shipped directly back to the owner.

Sounds like a standard Ruger Security-Six, likely a .357 Magnum 4" model, with aftermarket upgrades, the wide brass/gold trigger is probably a Tyler T-Grip or similar wide shoe, and the front finger insert/grooves on the grip is a common aftermarket rubber or wood set (Hogue, Pachmayr, or combat-style).
