Holster question?

Will a holster for a speed six fit a GP100? Barrel length doesn't matter, it's open muzzle.

SPEED SIX is a 38 frame....like a K frame S&W.

GP-100 is a 41 frame.....like a L frame S&W or a COLT Python.

Thanks, I was looking at one that says it fits both, but it just didn't sound right.

I have an older Hunter holster that was purchased for a four-inch Security Six (same frame as your Speed Six) many years ago.

My four-inch GP-100 fits it just fine.

I routinely use that same holster for either the Security Six or GP-100.

I have a Fobus paddle holster marked for a GP100, my Security Six fits perfect.

I recently ordered a new leather holster for my Speed Six. I was told by the manufacturer that he could use a mold for a GP 100 and it would fit fine, as the frames were the same. I wondered if that were true at the time. It is certainly not as tight of a fit as I was expecting. Overall, I will still use the holster, but would not have purchased it had I known it would be this loose. It fits fine around the barrel and trigger, but has a 1/8" gap all the way around the cylinder.
