Holster fit question Vaquero

The original model Vaquero and the New Model Blackhawk have the same size frame, correct? A holster marked for one should fit the other? Thanks.

Not always front sights are different ETC.

Years ago I had El Paso Saddlery make me one of their Threepersons holster for a 4 5/8" bbl. 3 screw Blackhawk 45 Colt. I later purchased an original Ruger Bisley Vaquero 44 Mag. with a 4 5/8" bbl. The Threeperson holster fit perfectly and the Bilsey Vaquero has resided in it ever since.

In general,, yes,, both will fit. But as noted,, if the front sight section of the holster is formed for one or the other,, it may not fit as good. But the frame size is the same as noted above.

We need to come up with a name for the New Newer model Blackhawk.

Ruger's naming conventions remind me of my Dad's cousin who named all of his dogs Ripper.

The Blackhawk flattop convertible in 45 colt/45 acp has a VERY tall front sight; this may be a problem for holsters not specifically built for it.
