A friend from work has asked for me help with the p93 that he has. It had a missing hammer pin that I already installed a new one.

The second problem is the the recoil spring rod is poking out of the front handgun. I can't fix that until I can get the handgun apart. I downloaded the manual and tryed to field strip it following the manual without luck.

Can anybody post pictures of the slide so I can see how the barrel and recoil spring is assembled. Thanks for any help guys.

First, figure out how to post the same message once -- or at least, less than 5 times. Then, re-read the manual.

Probably missing a sans clip(maybe more) that goes on the end of the guide rod and hold the spring in place. Kind of common problem on that style guide rod. I've never lost one but have bought several in that same condition. Call ruger, they will give you a new one.
I can post a pic if you really need one, the diagram isn't that helpful.

When I tryed to summit this or the other post the forum said it wasn't going through. I have read the manual more than several times.

dwd thanks for the reply. I can see where a clip slot at the end of the recoil guide. I assume the clip broke and is in the action. I still can't get the slide off. If I can get pictures then I can see if I can figure out what's maybe locking up the action. The slide cycles as to chamber a round. I can pull out the slide lock but the slide will not go forward to remove it.

jtv3062,

The spring can be a little different diameter on each end. It is very well possible the small end is facing the muzzle letting it push through. If you get it apart in one piece, you could just swap the spring end-for-end.

That reminds me. I should put a little dot of paint on the muzzle end of my P-series springs.

MAKE SURE GUN IS UNLOADED

Pull the slide back and lock it

look down through the top, see the ejector notch sticking out. push the ejector down. should swing out and block your view of the mag well.

Once the ejector is locked into the down position. slowly release the slide till slide stop notch lines up and push the slide stop out.

With the slide stop removed, gently pull the slide toward the front of the pistol till it leaves the frame.

remove the RSA (recoil spring assembly)
remove the barrel

You need to pull the ejector down and lock it in the down position. ONLY removing the slide stop wont do it
