I have been wanting a Marlin Hoop leaver 357 Mag rifle for some time but got spooked when Remington bought them out, I found one on Gun Broker for 700.00 bid so far
says it has JM stamped on the barrel but it has the push button safety on it. also has Ballard rifling, Is it before Remington or after and who owns them now?
Thanks fer any help

There were a lot of “JM” marked lever guns with push button safeties. Marlin started making those in the 1980s. And a lot of Remington made “Marlins” that are well made.

That Rifle was on one of the bid things, I stopped watching it when it got to $800.00.
The stock was beat up so it needed refinishing, So I started looking at Henry's new ones for $725.00 they are a fine looking rifle but I have decided that I aint going to pay that much for a lever action. I have the money and I wont miss it but their comes a time when I just aint going to pay HIGH PRICES. They can keep their Rifles and I'll keep my money and buy gold with it.

I have a 357 Rossi and a 44 mag Browning. They look almost identical. The Rossi shoots nice. I like the 357 in it better than the 44. It`s more of a sweetheart to shoot.
