Photobucket is only a host, you can use any host you want to post pictures. There are many free ones out there, imageshack, tinypic, flickr. Once you have a picture hosted, then you can link to it in posts.
The Mark I series ends with the 17-xxxxx serial numbers and the Mark II series starts the 18-xxxxx serial numbers.

Forums aren't generally the property of the company they represent as most are privately run so in this case there isn't a Ruger history department. One would likely need to contact Ruger directly for that history. But, you can get lucky in a forum and find someone that has more information or a related firearm. When you contact a firearms manufacturer there are some where there is cost involved to actually get even the year of production. Some companies want you to pay them to look up the information. As an extreme example, Sig now charges $49.95 to get a serial number certificate. It was $10.00 in 2008 when I had (3) of mine lettered. I called last week to have (3) more lettered and they gave me the good news of $149.85. Ruger is doing its owners a service by making the year of manufacture chart public, imo.
