Sorry, I gave quick answer to a quick question. My twisted humor.
You can have a gmail account, if you contact the admins & let them know you are not a spammer. PM one of them & they will "allow it" from what I've seen.

I only "pouted" because I had to use a university email account to sign up. You know how guns are viewed there....lol Plus, I will graduate soon and won't have access to it forever. I try not to keep 85 different email addy's...lol I don't know how some people do it!

As Contender suggests, check with the admins. My "regular" e-mail address got hijacked pretty badly a couple of years back, and I was able to change my registration to a Yahoo address then. We weren't having too much trouble with spammers then that I know of, so it may have been a case by case thing. You won't know if you don't ask!

Yes getting the attention of our AWOL admin has become difficult if not down right impossible. A while back I was at my wits end when I could not get in the forum with my password which had been working fine. I still have not received any answer/ help from them. Lord help us if we ever have a really big problem. Thankfully with the help of members and my son-in-law we fixed the problem. :roll:

When I've changed mine, I logged in, went to User Control Panel, then Profile, then Edit Account Settings. That worked to change my original e-mail address to a Yahoo address a couple of years ago, and again to return to the original just a few months ago. It all worked automatically. Is that no longer the case?

Considering that many email accounts are no-no's try and get one from a partner or something. I have one from BellSouth that I'm listed under and I don't think it is valid anymore. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

My one and only email account is gmail. I switched several years ago. I contacted the administration here and wham bam, thank you. It was done. No problems since.
