Hard Chrome Question

I just saw a photo of a Ruger .44 Special that had been hard chromed and boy was it sweet!! However, a thought crossed my mind. Hard chrome runs about 71-72R which is HARD. I wonder if this fella decided down the road to open up the chambers if the regular Clymer tool would do it? :?

You would need a carbide reamer if the chambers were hard chromed. HSS won't cut it.

Seems to make sense to do all of the machining before the finishing I suppose.

You can rechamber or open cylinder mouths on a EDM. The gun in my avitar was a 357 rechambered to 45 Colt with a EDM.
