Gun Scrubber for MKIII?

Anyone use "gun scrubber spray" and just spray innards and let drain and dry rather than tear down and clean every time? A few locals have mentioned doing this until gets loosened up and easier to tear down and clean good. Just curious here. thanks triker

I don't tear down every time anyway, it's not necessary. Clean the bore, scrub around the breech with a small toothbrush and some Hoppe's, wipe the slide as best you can, and a light oiling.

I've used Gun Scrubber for many years for exactly such reason. It's good stuff. (Also good as de-greaser for blue touch-up... so be certain to RE-LUBRICATE after using it.)

The ingredients in the regular Gun Scrubber may attack some plastics, rubber and wood finishes. You may want to use the Synthetic Safe Gun Scrubber.

Yep, I do that. I don't think there is a need to disassemble the entire pistol after each range trip. I have a Mark II and just take it apart every 4,000 rounds or so.

I just used Powder Blast last night, doesn't seem to cut through the crud as well as good old Hoppes #9.... maybe it's just because it's an old can. I have a can of Gun Scrubber I haven't used yet either but it's just as old. Does this stuff go bad (become ineffective) over time? Either way I'm giving SERIOUS consideration to investing in an ultrasonic cleaner, cleaning with solvent and patches and plastic "dental picks" is just too time consuming :x

Clearly I have different definitions of "never clean" and "thousands" than the rest of the world because my Mk2s (all of them) fail to go into battery after 350 - 400 rounds without cleaning, regardless of what ammo I'm using.

After a good cleaning, have you tried to do a flop test.
Drop a new round into the chamber. Does it just flop in and fall out easily?

Oh yes I use Gun Scrubber and even Brake Cleaner to clean my steel II/III but not the 22/45.

I just used powder blast. Acceptable. Haven't tried gun scrubber though..
