Hi Folks, went into Albertsons today on an errand for the Wife. Seen an old lady putting out magazines. Asked her if she had any new gun mags, she said with the new rules only a certain amount and type can be displayed. What?? She kinda went on and I thanked her & went for the cream cheese I was sent for to make Texas gold bars. This old gal found me at the back of the store and hands me an open flip phone, says my supervisor would like to speak with you. A nice woman proceeds to tell me that corporate from all the stores (not just Albertsons) sent down orders that no more than four gun magazines could be displayed at a time. No semi-auto rifles, no rifles with scopes + had to be displayed (hidden) where kids can't get them. Anyone else heard of this? I seen something in G&A about airports putting sleeves on their mags like they were something dirty. Jeez- Dave

There are no gun magazines on the racks in any of the grocery, drug or variety stores in my area.
One of my favorite things to do is to strategically pass along my multiple gun and trade magazines when I am done with them. Having spent many years in the Meat industry I loved leaving the trade mags in the seat back on airplanes. Now it is mostly gun magazines. In fact I left 4 or 5 of them this week in the dentists office. I go out of my way to leave them in any medical facility, airport, airplane, etc----you know just about anywhere where some gun grabbing anti freedom nut job will get their panties in a bunch just seeing the cover. Same deal with hunting and NRA magazines.
I take my old gun magazines to Kirk Army Clinic, on Aberdeen Proving Ground, with a "take it if you want it" note.AJGUNNER said:
Quite a few years ago (like maybe 20), I was talking to the local barber about shooting at a local range and he told me that barber shops get magazines for free (popular ones) to put out for customers' reading pleasure. He said that he gets various gun mags but doesn't put them out, but I could have them if I wanted them. You just reminded me of that........ (sadly)

As stated above. It's a national publicity push to demonize firearms and anybody who enjoys them. It has been going on for decades. But,, with the passage of CCW,, and the many folks getting it,, many more people are carrying & bucking the PC crap.
Sadly, as noted,, corporations are so PC anymore that the powers that be try & inject THEIR morals & positions into the business model. They THINK that they can do what the anti's haven't been able to do,,, push guns into an evil spot & vilify all of us who enjoy them.
They truly believe the gun is evil & not the thug behind it causing the crime.
Recently,, we had a college campus shooting in Charlotte NC. Two students were killed & other wounded. It would have been worse,, EXCEPT that one of the 2 killed chose to rush the gunman, and FIGHT. It caused the gunman to flee,, but it cost the student his life. He was from my local area. He was in the ROTC,, and known to help others. It wasn't surprising to hear he was a fighter & not a sheep.
Yet,, NOW,, locally,, they are creating funds & "help" to others to "stop gun violence" in his name. he was given full military honors at his funeral. While he may not have served active duty yet,, he was going to, and was willing to charge the gunman. A true soldier.
I bet he would NOT want to have his name used or his memory linked to something that would stop or restrict our freedoms.
Yet,, that's exactly what so many want to do. Use ANYTHING they can to make us all sheep & let only the military & police have guns. So, business owners,, are now using their beliefs in how they do business.
ONLY when these business see a DROP in sales or when they suffer monetary losses will they understand the impact we have. Dicks Sporting goods is a prime example. And Dicks owns Field & Stream. I have written a polite but firm letter to both corporations,, stating how I will no longer spend my money in either store, AND how I will tell others about how they are against Freedom!
ONLY when we stop being complacent,, and start fighting such things will it turn around. Polite letters & emails to corporations are what is needed to show them we are serious. But we have to also show them by NOT spending our money with them.
As the old saying goes; "Money talks,, & BS walks!"

nothing new these days, friend just changed his bike shop into a new gun shop one man operation and his bank will NOT take credit card sale on firearms :shock:
I told him to change banks...........
we used to "try" and put out mags at the Drs office, barber shop, over the years....you walk away and they remove them all within the hour......
now a friend takes them downtown to the VA ., or put them out at the gun show two for a dollar 8) :roll: :wink:
I used to give out Ruger stickers to the kids,,,,and YES guy told me the school called him about one of the Ruger stickers on the boys lunchbox,,,boy did he go round and round with them.............SAD indeed

I used to be the Administrator of that clinic, in the early 80's. It was a Lieutenant Colonel position and I was just a Major so it was seen as a feather in my cap. Nice to know that the clinic is still functioning. So much of the "old Army" that I was a part of, no longer exists.

Magazines. The conversation has been, the local stores have cut back on their gun magazine displays. I wouldn't know, as I get all my gun magazines out of my mailbox, but because of the anti-gun positions of so many stores, it's caused me to buy almost everything online.

I was in my local Kroger store today. They have an extensive magazine selection, and it includes three or four gun mags openly displayed, right at eye level. We shop there a lot.

If you leave your old magazines at doctor's offices or other places, remove the label with your name and address.
Why remove the labels? Nothing illegal about magazines, unless they are “large-capacity” magazines.

Hummmm...I'll have to check next time I go to Albertsons. Last time I was there they had 5 or 6 gun mags all displayed with all the other magazines and they had some of that "restricted" stuff (ARs, scopes, etc) on some of the covers. I'll have to see if this is a new policy and things have changed. On the other hand or local Ralphs (aka Kroger) hasn't had ANY gun mags for years. Keep in mind this is in Commiefornia too.

Well, after being told all this by the gals that are trying to make a living selling magazines I figured I'd just get ahead of the game. I already get Handloader & I just subscribed to Rifle. Probably go ahead and bundle Guns and American Handgunner this week. Might even save a few bucks in the process. I used to be able to trade the old ones in at half price books towards some classic older used gun & knife books. No more, let me know last time "not interested ". Whatever, I'll just hang on to them for reference-Dave
Went to our local Albertsons this evening and checked the magazine rack. There was 12 different gun magazines and about half have ARs, scopes and such on the cover, all visible. Even one deer hunting magazine if you want to add that in addition to the 12 gun magazines. I guess they haven't got the corporate memo yet.
