Just had something rather odd take place through this auction site. I was notified by email that I was high bidder on a Ruger Vaq. Congrats an so on, contact the seller. I did make contact to the seller by email and attached my FFL. I advised the seller I would do the Pay Now invoice I was sent automatically with my credit card since there was not up charge for doing so. I received back by email that my payment was processed successfully and according to my card service it was posted to my account as well. All this took place on the 16th. Checking the status of this transaction today it shows someone else as the high bidder, however their high bid did not exceed the high of the proxy bid I had placed on the gun. And accessing the bid history shows that as well. Making contact with the seller by phone, no one seems to know nothing about nothing. I just bet this is going to turn into another cluster ...., which is the way things seem to be going of late with my gun buying and any other accessory I have tried to put my hands on. Somebody send me some better karma or shake your magic beads for me please.

On the positive side you haven't lost any money if you used a credit card. A simple phone call to your card will take care of that easy enough.

This sounds suspiciously like a scam...

That is what I thought as well. To my surprise I got a call back from the seller in Utah he told me I was indeed the correct bidder and it must have been a glitch with the gun auction site. He advised he had the birdshead Vaquero in his hands and he had my emailed FFL and my credit card had processed the funds to the store. He also called me back later on to give me the FedEx tracking number.

Now, I told you in the original post every thing I had tried to buy recently had gone crazy/haywire. Now in as much as I would like to think that I'll get a happy ending delivered at my FFL dealer some time next week. I can't help to think of what my very best friend Thurgood told me not to long ago. " JP he said, if it was raining nacked women, I'd get a lesbian. We shall see how this goes down, my Mark II got delivered and it arrived as a 911 last week.

I'll keep you up to date.

Consider the seller may have cancelled all other bids (since he knew yours was higher) thus making YOU the buyer & a higher sales price for himself

OR the "lower" bids were shill bidders (jacking up the price) till YOU the legimate bidder "won it"

All tricks - nothing surprises me anymore

I can't figure what went south on this one as I've bought several fairly valuable guns from their site without a problem.

The auction closed on the 16th, 2 days ago. Your payment was accepted promptly via CC, and someone else, who probably would have mailed them the funds, like me, got it? All this in 2 days, less time than it would normally take for the funds to arrive?

Did I miss something?
