Grips, Short Frame

I have a set of elk grip panels for mine made by "Patrick Grashorn". He had these in stock when I ordred a set so I took these. I put a short grip frame on a 22lr 50th Anniversary

Howdy!
I noticed the white plastic Ruger factory ones tended to crack at the bottom near the pin hole, so I went looking for replacements as well.
Eagle Grips will do them in Ultra Ivory for you, (and I suspect other material as well).
I also picked up a set in white Corian from Collins Grips, but I think he's retired now.

Yes they did make wood grips for the short grip frames. I bought these off the Ruger website when I made this shorty .22 old model:

However, it's simple to shorten any standard size XR3 RED grips to fit. The locating pin holes are in the same place. XR3 grips won't work. But I have no doubt whatsoever any custom grip maker could also make them.

Jim,

since The locating pin holes are in the same place is it possible to cut down and reshape a standard XRN-3RED grip frame to match the profile of the XRN-3RED short grip frame?
