I switch from Pachmayr back to the factory wooden grips. The trigger guard on the gun is the square style. Today when shooting the gun the bottom/back side of the guard was killing my finger. I put the Pachmayr back on but really would like a grip that is wider in the back and takes up the space between the frame and the back of the trigger guard. Does anybody have any suggestions?

You have several choices: tape your finger, use a glove of some sort or do like I did and get some Herrett grips. They make a over sized grip, buy them new from Herrett or find them on gunbroker from time to time. If you are creative you can sand them to fit your hand a bit better and refinish. Herrett makes darn good stuff. Good luck, Jerry

I keep a set of these around just for giggles:

They are long discontinued 'Mustang' brand grips for the SBH...

Hideous, and chunky...But they accomplish your "a grip that is wider in the back and takes up the space between the frame and the back of the trigger guard" aims...

Here's a set on eBay (not mine and I do not know the seller)...

THAT is the reason I keep a box of bandaids in my shooting box. I don`t have that problem with my SBH Hunter grip framed guns. But even the short barreled Supers with the round trigger guard will bight my finger, thus the bandaids get put on BEFORE I start shooting. Not a problem when hunting, but if blasting at the range, after 25 or so shots it starts to hurt. Have fun!!

If you are right handed you can back out of the grip a bit until the knuckle on your middle finger is not lined up with the trigger guard. It seems strange at first but it will work.

LAH not sure I follow what you are saying. I need to hold on as much as I can when shooting anything more that bottom of the scale loads.

Grip the SBH as you normally do. Notice the middle knuckle of the middle finger is directly behind the trigger guard. Loosen your grip, take the barrel in your left hand & move it to your left allow the grip frame to move in you hand till your knuckle is just right of the trigger guard. It will feel strange & weak but it works fine especially for slow fire. I have a friend who shoots this way & he does very good work. I've shot this way but abandoned it for the Bisley.

As said before, try some Herrett's. I have seen some from other gripmakers but can't remember who. Might check around=will be pricey.
