GP100 questions!

Gents, this is my first time posting on the forum! I am a proud owner of TWO GP100's and I love em both. I just got this old school GP100 in that is chambered in .38 special (please see picture). I have noticed that the grips are signifigantly smaller than my GP100 in .357 mag. Are there any secondary market grip options for my .38, or are the Hogue/Pachmyr grips a "one size fits all" for the GP100's? Also, is this GP100 any rarer or more desireable than the other models? Any help or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance gentlemen.

All the GP100 grips, will interchange with any model of GP, They will also interchange with the Super Redhawk grips. The grip stud is the same on both revolvers.

I just started DROS on that exact model gun yesterday! I have full lug 4" and 6" stainless 357 GP100's and like them so much I could not resist buying the 38 Special version. The seller told me he bought it new and only shot 50 rounds through it.

The gun I bought has a night sight installed on the front. I could not tell if it was still bright or to my liking when I bought it. The seller provided the original front sight. What is required to replace the front sight on this model? It looks as simple as removing a pin.

I have it's blued brother, also in .38 Special. :) It's one of my slickest, I added a Power Custom endshake bearing to correct some endshake it had, probably from the factory since the gun was hardly fired and it just might be the slickest Ruger I have now. I kept the springs stock, and those half lug .38 4" GP's are just perfect with the small Letts.

I also have the same gun in .357, it works better for me with the large early 2-piece Letts.

I also found one of those Canadian trade-in DAO .357's a while back, these are still around for $3-400........it kills me, I remember when these first came in through Century and they were all over gun shows for $200 and no one wanted DAO Rugers then :oops: I should have bought 5 of them back then.......it makes a great "utility" working gun, you can use it for CC, the spurless hammer and small Letts make a great snag free carry gun, it's a great training gun since it will get you out of the habit of cocking hammers..no worries about rust or holster wear, and they are already holster buffed so no worry about keeping the stainless "pretty"..I only shoot .38's through it but if I need to I can loadit with .357's...and it will last forever, what's not to love :o

Great pictures of all revolvers. I love fixed sight revolvers. I have been looking for a GP100 4 inch with fixed sights but just have not been able to locate one.
Just thought I would chime in. Great looking revolvers.

I'm a fixed sight guy too, especially with the Ruger Sixes and GP100's. I like the look and shape of the frame, the handling and the sight picture better than the adjustable sight models. The Service Six with stock wood grips just has that classic "service revolver" look that I like.
