I have a question regarding the wood and rubber grip for the GP100. Does the one piece grip require the grip locator as does the two piece grip? Also does the wood portion of the one piece grip fit flush with the rubber portion or does it stick out approx 1/16 at the bottom? Thanks for any info.

Yes. Though the locator is inserted after the grip is in place.
FLush.

Here's a pic of both types. The 41 Spec. has the one piece.

Great looking 41 Spl Sugar River. My GP100 was manufactured in Oct 2010 with the Hogue grips. I purchased the old style 2 piece and the grip locator had to be driven in with a leather mallot. The sides of the rubber fit flush all the way around but the wood inserts stick out as I said about 1/16". Plus it was inletted where the hammer pivot pen is located. I had to fill this in as the pivot pen would work it's way out after about a dozen times of dry fire. Maybe these grips just weren't ment for this gun. Fortunately it's a 327 Fed so not so much recoil that would cause a problem with the grips not fitting quite as they were intended.
