I've had this for a week and I still haven't shot it. I've cleaned it twice and taken it apart a few times. I need to shoot it.

Tomorrow. I'm going to shoot the hell out of it tomorrow. 200 rounds .357 and 100 rounds .38.

But as sweet as tomorrow is there is likely to be a bitter moment,,,, as you realize how much you missed out on buying any other revolver over those years,,,, you're gonna love that shooter, but you have to think after the delight you are about to endure, you will have to ask another question,,,, are them single actions as great as many think,,,, Just might have another Ruger to add and see what else you're missing :wink:

Beautiful. But. If you want it to look like it is SUPPOSE to look like, then you have to go here and order a set of the traditional "panel" grips. These are the Ruger oem grips that they supplied for the first few decades of the GP existance. I have to admit the big fat Hogues do a great job of soaking up recoil, but the real Ruger grips are obligatory for any dedicated GP shooter.

I like the look of those BUT I love the feel of the grips I have.

Hand size is factor. My 6 in. stainless GP 100 came with the Hogue grips, which didn't fit my small hands very well. I replaced them with the older style grips as shown in the link provided by Mr. Don. These work well for me and even with .357 loads, recoil is not an issue. Plus, I like the look a lot better but recognize beauty is in the eye of the beholder and some folks like the look of the Hogue grips better.
