Picked up a new GP100 4 inch in 327 Fed. Mag stainless steel.
Going to clean it and shoot it later today.

Now to sell the SP101 3 inch 327 Fed Mag.

I really love the GP100s.

I'm struggling with these. I want one, but they don't really make sense. I like my SP101 in .327, and it has an advantage of being 6-shot vs. the 5-shot .357. With the GP100, there is no advantage. I guess the .327 being a a bit heavier will reduce recoil, but at the expense of carrying more weight.

I don't have one but I can see the advantage. The GP-100 is a better platform for the 327 federal, heavier or not. :D

I have the first gen SP101 3 inch in 327 Fed Mag and a Lipsey's target grey GP100 4 inch in .357 Mag. I don't feel the need for another same size GP100 so I bought a Single Seven 5.5 inch in 327 Fed Mag. Now that's the revolver for .327 Fed Mag! Sweet shooter even using the full power 327 loads.

Saw a good quote the other day: "Just because it's more than you need doesn't mean you shouldn't have it."
Seems to apply here to making decisions about gun buying.

You don't think 7 shots is an advantage over 6 shots. 7 full house 327's will be an attention getter on both ends. Bob!!

I don't think that 7 shots of .327 in a GP100 is an advantage over 7 shots of .357 in a GP100.

You are correct sir! I had forgotten about 7 shot 357's as none were mentioned in the thread. A seven shot 357 is a bad dude!!Bob!

I can't believe a 7, 8, or 10 shot revolver can be timed as accurately as 6 shot can. I would rather have 5 if it meant it was more accurate than a six shot with every chamber hitting the same hole at 25 yards and beyond. If it can't well to me it just becomes a noise maker after that. In self defense, one shot can mean your dead or still with us, rarely if 7 or 8 are needed will it matter!

To me I would take the one that was inherently more accurate and feel I had more gun!
