That's a GP-100????
NICE. I like it. I'm thinking the wait was long and the price was high. But well worth it. I hope you plan on shooting it and a report.

Hunter it starts as an Alaskan and a donor Redhawk barrel. And the wait was a few years. Something happened with the person doing his large caliber boring so that dragged things out, but well worth the wait. And it really balances out nicely with the 4" barrel. I just don't understand why Ruger doesn't make this revolver as a production item.
My first thought was it was a Redhawk. Nice gun! Let us know how it shoots. Man oh man, if it became a production gun, I would consider buying one and go work in Alaska for another year!

I shoot .44 mag DA. At Contender's, I shot his SRH DA clearing the table of steel plates. The .480 handled well. 8) I think a 240 gr LSWC with 22 gr of 2400 under it has more recoil in my Redhawk, than what I shot from the SRH. Of course that could be that Contender's reloads for .480 aren't full power? :shock: I think the cast bullet he had was 405 gr if I remember correctly, I don't know what powder or how much. I had a permanent smile after shooting the .480!Mus408 said:

That cast slug is moving along at about 1050 fps,, so it's a mid range load. And yes,,, it's a sweetheart to shoot.

That is soooooo nice! You are very lucky, don't think Bowen will make any more for a while - if - ever! If I spent that much $$ it would be for one of those conversions. Please more pics! I can at least dream & drool

Ah, you have realized my dream gun. It really is nice. Wish Ruger would update their Redhawk to the SRH innards and grip peg. They could also standardize on fewer parts and assembly. I am with the others as don't need the frame extension on the Supers.

Really nice. I had a SRH shortened to 4.75" and recoil was not bad. I was shooting 410 grain cast bullets at 1100 fps.
I sold it only because I found almost the same thing in 44 and that was what I originally wanted.
I also wish Ruger would make a SRH like yours with a 3 or 4" barrel.
