The SP-101 and the GP-100 are basically the same in mechanical function. There used to be something here. Look under Ruger revolvers.

There are many other things other than what's shown in those links to improve the action on a GP/SP mostly shimming the hammer/trigger & hammer dog..
Polishing detents & holes, any area has friction & lightly lubricating the action with Militec-1
I also wanted to ask you about removing material from the hammers nose on the GP & SP GP100man IIRC you had said .018" was what you removed on the GP100, What about the SP101s? I'll have one one apart in a few weeks for a buddy & could stone the hammer down, That little trick worked wonders on a Dan Wesson 15-2 I worked on years ago for this same fella..
