wonder if you fellas can help me out ? I would like to load for 6'' GP-100 for grounghogs....I feel the 125gr XTP is a great choice along with 2400 powder....I have a target velocity in mind....can someone give me the powder charge of 2400 with a 125gr XTP to hits velocitys in the 1350-1450 range......Thx in advance....Keith

Liability.....There is none....I'm grown Ihave a idea of where it should be . all my data is for a 10'' barrel......My 1400 fps gaol is a good velocity not hard on the gun and should drive tacks.....I choose the 125gr because the gp has a 18.75 twist and I want to be able to reach out like 100+ yds......yes a 158 will do that easy...but the 125 should do it with more accuracy ...in theory ...

I don't know what distance you plan on shooting at but I would pick what shoots the best in your gun.
It doesn't matter if you hit them with a 110gr. hp or 158gr. cast they're gonna die.

Consult the Lyman handgun reloading book; you can't go wrong there. I have used numerous of their specs, and can only complain of a couple, which they had not viewed as their "most accurate". Whatever, one must try several different loads, and the Lyman book at the very least won't let one blow up a gun. And weigh your charges when reloading.

Check the Alliant website http://www.alliantpowder.com/
They have one with a 125gr Gold Dot bullet. Looks like around 17.0gr of 2400 should get you there safely.

This thing called Google will take you right here:

and lots of other places, too. Somewhere you will find the right load for your gun. I own 4 .357s, and each has a favorite load -- and no two share the same favorite.
