GP-100 insert refinishing

Hi all,

I need some advice on how best to restore factory wood inserts on a GP-100. Thanks.

I just lightly sanded mine to expose most of the wood and just rubbed on some cherry stain with an old cloth. Do the back first as a trial to make sure you get the desired result. Surprisingly, the cherry from Minwax looked pretty close to the original color. 2002 gp100.
