I have officially lost 90 pounds. Took me less than a year, think I started exercising around Feb. of this year. Weighed 320 when I started. I still weigh 230, at 6'2. I weighed around 205 when I started working at Knob Creek, and I sure would like to get down there again, but I am pretty happy to be the weight I am now. Feel so much better. Cut my blood pressure meds in half, and if I can lose a little more and quit dipping, I am sure I can get off them all together. I did this once before, and once I quit dipping, I no longer needed any blood pressure meds. But, one thing at a time. Don't think I could have stayed sane trying to quit dipping and losing weight at the same time! :D

Holy crap, dude! That's phenomenal. I'm fighting "the beast" myself. Topped out at 215 and I'm down to 192...with a goal of 175.

Hi,

Congratulations, Tim! Just the "feeling better" thing should be inspiration to keep working toward that 205, though progress might slow down a touch now... my last 13lbs or so have taken a year when I could once burn off about 5/mo without too much trouble. I'm sure the new Mrs. gunman has probably been a good influence on you, too, so ya might wanta give her a big hug and a "Thank you, Honey" as well!

Way to go... 230 and 6'2" sounds about right to me.... try changing to a cigar... just chew on it.. Smoke it when alone ....might be a way to get off the other stuff.... and I think it is much more politically incorrect to walk around with a cigar in your mouth. ;-)

Congrats on the weight loss, getting off the meds is always a good thing - I need to get motivated and serious and drop a few pounds myself. Knob Creek as in the Knob Creek Bourbon or the gun range.?? They do make some good bourbon!!

That's phenomonal! You lost over 25% of your body weight. I'm sure you feel so much better than you did a year ago. God bless!

Outstanding!
Tobacco, I choose to use and will not quit. Dip, chew, cigars, pipe and snus.
I quit for 7 years once and was miserable.

Light me a good cigar and give it to me on my death bed, let me go out happy.

Great job! Keep up the effort. I had high blood pressure and weighed 201 at 5'10" a year ago. I am now 170. The meds are no longer needed. I learned to eat when hungry, not eat when not hungry, eat slowly and stop when I start to feel full. When I came out of Parris Island I weighed 160. it was all uphill after that. Going down the down slope has really been rewarding. Keep it up. you will feel amazing changes in your body and feel much better in general.

OK, I quit chewing, Good Friday 2000. Nicotine patches, spent $40.00 of my personal funds, not the household account. Never finished the 2 week kit, was nicotine free after 10 days. Still clean after chewing since 1968! My brother in law spent 3 months in KU Med center KC for mouth cancer 2years ago, so please quit,ASAP. Overloadded

Congratulations from a guy who's battled lard most of his life. Right now I'm down 60lbs from my peak at a svelt 175. Five more lbs to go.

Knob Creek Bourbon tops my list. In the past 11 months I went from 195 to 170 pounds. My Doc for 35 years who wan 3 bronze stars in Nam as a Doc, told me three things.

1. Eat slowly and push the plate away as soon as you get the first inclination that your stomach is full.
2. Never fill your plate to start. You can always go back for more.
3. If you get hungry a few hours after eating dinner, it is likely to be end-of-day anxiety. Don't eat. Sip a (1) bourbon.

Result: goodbye 25 pounds.

gunman42782,

90 pounds......That is impressive as hell!!!

I too am 6'2" and about 230 lb.s....
I work in a factory with a fair amount of heavy lifting......
That size to weight...equals enough strength to do a man's job! lol

KUDOS....losing 90 lb.s had to have taken a load of effort and self control.
