Sister and brother-in-law were by for a quick visit before heading out of town. I had a SBH I had been working on laying on the coffee table which prompted a discussion of guns. BIL has only lived here for 3-4 years, married my sis a year ago. Anyway, he said his sis and her hubby were good friends with an excellent gunsmith here. Of course everybody's whatever is the best. BIL stumbled trying to find the name. Turns out the name is Hamilton Bowen. I told him Hell Yea. He's one of the premier, if not THE premier, custom Ruger gunsmiths in the country. Good to know if I ever need his service at least I'll have a name to drop.

Bowen is definitely one of the best. But he's in good company with many others. Some just approach their trade a bit differently. But there are a handful of really good AND well known custom gunsmiths. Now, if you need service, mosey on over to your sisters house & get them to "visit" their friend!
