Getting Trolled on my First Post

Using a rifle scope to "scout areas" your words is not considered safe. Scout enough country and at some point you aren't specifically checking out an animal, you will be noticing people. There was an incident in NY recently where a guy used his scope thinking he saw a deer and killed a woman. No where in hunter safety is a person encouraged to use their rifle scopes to scout areas. I noticed this was your first bear hunt in Montana. I'm thinking you don't have a lot of hunting experience from many of your remarks. Take the comments for what they are worth and learn how to hunt safely. You came up with a lot of conclusions that experienced hunters have either thought about already, or have altered their hunting style with. Usually that isn't using a scope to "scout the country". This whining going on isn't endearing you to people who hunt and don't care to be scoped out by hunters that don't have any judgment. Or you can continue to whine and be dismissed as an ethical hunter. Just trying to help. You don't want it, say so, but the whining and trying to excuse bad behavior is getting old.

The original post is about the Super Redhawk in 10mm and how I chose the 44 Alaskan as my backup. To go off topic on my own post would be comical. Here we are in the lounge just chatting while the general consensus on the Super Redhawk 10mm post is the size of the SRH is not required for 10mm, a GP100 in 10mm would be more suitable, the Super Redhawk in 41 magnum can far exceed the 10mm. As the author of the post those are responses I was interested in. The lounge is suitable for chitchat, not the Ruger Revolver page.

Come on fellas, let up on 44alaskan. I agree with his thoughts on what he should have done when he encountered the bear. He WAS NOT glassing the countryside with a scope as some posts suggest. He had already identified the target visually and he wasted time with the binoculars. He did what any hunter would do. Put your scope on the target. ITS A BEAR, it's what your hunting!.

As to his being trolled , we all find that there are posters on all forums who want to appear a little smarter than others. They're not trolls, but people ready to take statements out of context to be what I call "politically correct". The "you're dumber than I am and you should know better" syndrome. We've all been there.

Just WHO in this country cannot afford a pair of binos, but can purchase a hunting license and ammo etc? You can purchase a brand new pair of decent binos for 50 bucks or so. My youngest son stopped hunting with me because he saw, through his binos another hunter scoping him out with a scoped rifle and ruined that kid forever. After 5 years, I still cannot convince him that it won't happen again and it's OK to go hunting again. Blackie, for crying out loud...get the proper tool for the job...if you REALLY cannot afford a pair of binos PM me your address and I will buy you a @50.00 pair of Bushnell binos and ship them to you. Give me a break already!!!! BTW, if I ever catch someone scoping me with a rifle I guarantee he will never do it again. I mean...seriously??

GEEZ; He HAD binocs, he KNEW it was a Bear; The QUESTION was WHAT Species of BEAR. By the time he fumbled up his binocs, saw the species of BEAR and went for his rifle with a scope, the BEAR took OFF. There NO OTHER HUMANS MENTIONED. Said NEXT time, he would NOT fuss with Binocs when wanting to see up close the BEAR SPECIES; STILL NO HUMAN MENTION.
