General FUN movies

I was pondering today about movies and thought where are the just plain old fun movies? No political agenda, not a specific genre (sci-fi, western, spy, action, comedy, thriller, etc) and these popped in my head immediately.

The Mummy (Brendan Fraser version)
Knights Tale
I suppose even Radiers of the Lost Ark could fit

I'm sure there is more, but why aren't there a lot more? (now) Or do I need to think harder and am missing a bunch?

Not necessarily genre-less, but these are my favorite "good fun" movies:

- Man From Snowy River
- Tron and Tron II (sue me, I'm an 80's kid)
- The Last Samurai
- Dazed and Confused (all right, all right, all right)

There are many more, but these are ones I have no problem rewatching.

Woke up this morn and turned on the telly and Short Circuit just started..."#5 is Alive".
I like older movies and "Destry" with Audie Murphy and "Destry Rides Again" with Jimmy Stewart are entertaining.
Laurel and Hardy, Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chase, Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin comedies.
While Cary Grant was an outstanding actor, his second take/look in a comedy like "Bringing Up Baby".
All the Fred Astaire movies...
The list goes on...

Reminds me of a You Bet Your Life episode.
Groucho asked a couple with 10 kids why they had so many kids. They replied, "We just love each other."

Our all time favorite is The Great Race with Tony Curtis, Jack Lemon, Peter Faulk, Natalie Woods. Even has an old fashioned Intermission.

Iirc, C.R.1&2 had real speedo and tach readings, but Gumball Rallye with carradine had, like, 3.08 speedo gears in on 4.56 finals, so the road was going by at 60 but the clock said it was 90.
But i havent seen since them since first run, so may have them backwards on that gimmick.
