Funny on "TJ Hooker"

Watching the old TJ Hooker tv show tonight. Hooker commandeered a civilians car and was chasing some bad guys in their car. The funny part was that they were driving side by side and they kept ramming the cars into each other doing nothing but ruining the sides of the cars. They must have rammed each other at least fifteen times.

The chase only came to an end when the street they were on turned onto another street and the bad guys car hit another car and immediately became air born like all vehicles do on hitting another car and wound up wheels up.

I guess they never heard of the pit maneuver back then. Funny Stuff :mrgreen:

Actually I don't think the pit maneuver was being taught when that show was on.

I've always like William Shatner.... on the edge kind of actor... but that mop he had on his head in that show was just a tad too much.

I think it was Heather Locklear's job to take the focus off that mop.

But it kind of looked like the part of the Velcro that the hooky stuff sticks to.

Really do not think what TV shows or even moives do is about real life. It's about making money and what some thinks looks good, cool, sexy etc. What's fun about watching the cars fly after a crash is once and awhile you get to see the ramp or part of it they drove up. Also watch and rerun the scenes when a vehicle is flying past the camera. If you can see the engine compartment from a under side shot. Look does it even have a engine in there? Many times it does not. That's one way they get a front engine car to land front wheels higher than the rear instead of a nose dive. Or the vehicle going over a cliff, the hood may open and look, no engine. Or while I am at it how do the vehicles blow up from the inside? Propane, they fill the inside with it and light it off is one way.

Most explosions on TV and the films are created by fuel air explosions using something like creamer or dried goat's milk. You blow this in the air and then ignited it.

I used to live near this guy in California and recall the murder. The show writer said he didn't write the book around this retired cop with the same name.

I suppose there are more then 1 way to cause a fire ball. The time I watched while closing down a bridge while the movie guys used it. I seen the propane tank and guy with a hose into the vehicle he then removed the tank. I asked a movie guy standing next to me he told me it was propane and did not say it but, talked about it like that was normal back in the late 1990s.

On "Adam 12" car accidents on the freeways ALWAYS had the car in the rear leaping up into the air and sometimes you COULD catch a glimpse of the ramp. Also notice how in many shows there is NEVER a rear view mirror in the top center of the windshield.

Of all the TV shows, I don't think any could beat "Chips" for the flying cars thing.

The missing windshield rear view I have also noted that none have one. I have heard reasons why but, my guess it has to with just being in the way. Filming from outside it can block the people's faces inside and cause shadows. Filming from inside it would show the camera. I am sure there are other reasons.
