Funny things wives buy.

I can't say I remember my first outdoor adventure. Probably because it was prenatal.
Dad wasn't a fisherman. He hunted and camped and such. Hated the ocean after being packed on troop transports.
But my uncles were fishermen. All but one aunt enjoyed the outdoors.
In other words my siblings and cousins all grew up outside. As kids of the 40's & 50's, inside was for eating, sleeping and homework.

I really did live in Mayberry, we were all a little bit Beaver and more than a little Dennis.

Forgot to follow up on this, the $12 chainsaw was my Easter present.

She got my Son a $225 Yeti! But she got it for free using LLBean Bucks she accumulated on a credit card.

Not complaining I got a good one.

Mom said that when I was a boy, I hated leaving my playing and the woods so much that I wouldn't even come inside to use the bathroom. She said there was a period of time when I kept getting constipated because I held it back so long. Guess I should have just carried a roll of TP with me into the woods. I know.... TMI.

I may have given the wrong impression. We do a lot with our son and he is involved in a lot of activities at school. Been to almost all of his baseball, basketball, football, soccer, cross country, and scholar bowl matches. Arranged for him to participate in a lot of academic camps and worked from hotel while he was in the camp. Taken him fishing and hunting. He got his first deer at about age 8 (perfect shot with Savage 220 20 guage slug gun) and has a nice buck on the wall above me as I type.

I just need to do more. He's growing up.

That is a beautiful horse. Been a lot of years since I rode a horse and the last time was on a paint about like that one. Brother had purchased a beautiful young (2 or maybe years old?) paint horse with great bloodlines. It was partially broke. He didnt have a lot of spare time so he kept it with cattle in a 40 acre pasture that was partially wooded. One day, I was there and decided to take it for a ride. I dont remember if used saddle and bridle or bareback. I think bareback. I do remember it starting off ok; but then it deciding to run flat out through the trees and me hanging on for all i was worth. We made it back without me falling off; but i think that is the last time I went riding. Want to again someday...
