I read the article describing the trial so far... seems the only real question is how long the young guy is going to spend in prison.
I have not seen a picture of the kid who got killed.. maybe I will goggle him.

From the testimony thus far, Anthony should be convicted in short order and have the book thrown at him. But we'll see. I've said before I don't have a lot of trust in the justice system.

Under Texas law, he needs to prove ALL of the following to the jury:

-Anthony had a right to be present at that location (Stand Your Ground Doctrine);

-did not provoke the person against whom the force was used (Initial Aggressor Rule);

-was not otherwise engaged in criminal activity at the time , such as carrying the knife on school grounds (Part of the Stand Your Ground Doctrine);

-reasonably believed that deadly force was immediately necessary to protect against the other’s use or attempted use of unlawful deadly force (Reasonable Belief Doctrine);

-and that the threat of unlawful deadly force (or serious bodily injury) was imminent (Imminent Harm Requirement)

This is absolutely ludicrous.

Like I said from what I read just from the news article report of the testimony, not from all the talking heads on the internet, the only question is how long the stupid kid is in prison for. I'm sure there is more to it than we will ever know.... few assumptions... elstupido got under the tent with the opposing teams players because it was raining hard... then the now dead dumb jock decides to take offense and tells him to leave... they have words and the pushy entitled jock puts hands on elstupido to turn him around and coerce him to leave and elstupido has a knife in his hand hidden in his satchel he is carrying ... and pulls the knife and stabs the jock..... probably did not mean to or have the experience to know what he was doing just got pissed off and reacted ..... in my opinion none of this justifies the stabbing let alone the death.... one life gone and another ruined. But from what I can remember of when I was that age.. stupid is pretty normal and I'm speaking from personal experience, I still can't believe I survived those years or am not just now being release from prison.

I don't have a link handy but I read an article that said the knife had a thumb stud & liner lock & could be opened quickly.

Frisco ISD, like most school districts, prohibits the possession of any knives on school property or at any sanctioned events . . . . .

I understand what you are saying. But I refuse to blame the knife. The knife didn’t commit a crime.

Merely having the knife isn’t unsportsmanlike conduct. The way he acted was unsportsmanlike, what he did was criminal and he deserves severe consequences.

I hope the cops are prepared to deal with riots, if Anthony is deservedly convicted. Like the below lawyer, I don't see how a reasonable jury would avoid throwing the book at him. But it's hard to find reasonable juries anymore.

At the close of the state’s case, it genuinely appears that the defendant was there it seems, as odd as it would’ve sounded, to provoke or pick a fight. There’s no rational reason that he refused 14 or 15 times when asked to leave. There’s no rational reason that he said what he said. There’s no rational reason why he intentionally brought a knife to a simple school track meet. This is not a case of self-defense.

I have an enormous amount of respect for the defense team. In this case, Mike Howard, and Toby Shook. Their seasoned attorneys and very good men. But I don’t know what they have to work with here.

I predict 35 years. I also predict that there will be a segment of the American community that will never accept any verdict other than a ridiculous not guilty because of how this was unfortunately made into a racial charged case by his supporters and his family. Sadly, there may actually be unrest, alá George Floyd.
