I have a friend that is kind of a recluse bordering on a hermit. His social skills are a little lax. He is getting on in years and thought about his impending demise and ask me to help him find a resting spot for later. I looked all around and found one in a shady spot with a South slope, but the price was $4,000.00. He don't have that much money and wondered what to do. Then Dick said "I am only going to be in it for 3 days".

a buddy of mine, when diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, bought himself a steel salvage drum and contacted a guy who drills spud holes for oil wells to come out and auger a 10' deep x 36" wide hole in the ground. My buddy's family found out and bought him a full funeral home package, but he was really PO'ed that they spent that much money his comment was "I had the whole deal done deal for $250 bucks including the barrel and the hole to put it in."

Resting spots are spendy in Idaho! I'll sell mine in Del Rio, Texas for cheap, I've decided not to use it.

Is he related to a guy I knew in high school who claimed three really smart guys brought him stuff when he was born?

I like the company in Wisconsin that will reload your buddies cremated remains in shotgun shells. "Take your buddy hunting one last time "

I told my wife 12 years ago I wanted that done. She said I was crazy. Then here about a year or so ago she came in laughing because she had just heard them talking about that company on the radio. I guess I wasn't as crazy as she thought........probably so but someone is now making money off what I wanted :)

Did it to a guy at our gun club, took all day and we still had plenty of ashes left. Made two motars out of 3" pipe he was gone in two shots. He covers the trap range. The ashes aren't exactly ashes, the bones and teeth don't burn completely they are ground up, kinda lumpy.
