Blackhawk
I rarely go yard sale shopping with Taryn, but she went to the gun shop with me, so it was hard to say no when we passed the sign on the way home. I sure was glad we did as they had this dirty broken old display case setting out under one of the tables. It was going to be a "fairy garden" by the homeowner selling their yard but Taryn saw the potential right away and grabbed it. One pane of glass was broken but that became the back of the display and replaced with a thin board covered in black velvet cloth. She would want me to point out this is still the rough draft as it is still filthy, and she has lighting issues to resolve.
Both the shipping box and the actual factory box will have a suspended look when she is completed as the factory box, as pictured, was held in place by the plastic piece for proper placement only. She has a modified black metal divider out of a filing cabinet attached to the back wall, that is adjustable for height, and magnets placed in the boxes to hold them at the steep angle to give them the appearance of floating. This has already completed for the shipper pictured. The red velvet in the bottom is over a thin layer of padding with a cut out for a wood insert to give the gun support. It is easily removed so a different padding and wood support can be used with other guns as well as the ability to swap out/remove the metal dividers on the back wall. Her plan is to build another box identical to this to show case a salt cod Standard to serve as a mirrored display at our next show.
My picture taking abilities, and the sun coming in through the dining room windows, does not reflect the beauty of this set up. Once she has it completed, cleaned up, and the wood oiled it is really going to shine. I'll do my best to get better pictures taken from my basement picture setup.
