For the doubters (Shooting Times/Ruger 1911 cover)

The lock work is definately not the same but the concept is close. The GP100 was produced in 1985 and the SP101 was produced in 1993. Where do you get your facts from? Let me test your memory one more time.

Usually the Ruger site has a countdown thingy when something news is about to be launched........so I have a hard time believing the Ruger 1911 is coming.
But I very much hope I'm mistaken ;-)

Hopefully Ruger is just waiting to have some big unveiling during regular working hours. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't magazines show up in subscribers' mailboxes several weeks to a month before the first of the publication month? Any Shooting Times subscribers watching this thread?

I picked up the May 2 issue of Shotgun News off a news stand last night. I can't imagine a manufacturer not announcing ahead of a magazine article being published and delivered.
