Quite common with float plane in the Far North. They land on the grass and get lifted to a trailer for maintenance. Did you notice how the flaps were up until he wanted to lower them to POP it off of the trailer. Probably became airborne at around 55-60 MPH

This guy does a great comedy routine with an Interstate Cadet. He even drops off an aileron during the act. His next act is to land on top of a moving pick up. Saw him at several air shows.
It always takes him three tries to do it

Yes - I was thinking howbout some flaps and he yanked them and the yoke at the same time.

See it every year at my airport. There are a lot of float planes based there (Not to be confused with amphib's,...they have extendable wheels from the floats). I think the fun part is in the late fall when they want to take the floats off and install the landing gear. They wait for a really nice frosty morning and come in and land on the grass, using the frost as lube! Ya gotta be on your game to do that.

You'd think there would be a little wheeled dolly/cradle for that sort of thing, that the floats would just sit/ride on until takeoff. The Germans used a similar idea in WWII for their Me 163 and Arado 234.

I can imagine the first discussion of using a wheeled cradle.

airport- we will have to charge you to send a truck behind you to get it off the runway and if that uncontrolled dolly hits any lights/etc you'll have to pay.

pilot- I'll just ride in the back of the truck then!
