Flattop Reblue???

I just acquired a Flattop .44 with 6 1/2" barrel, made in 1958, serial # 10,XXX. Overall the gun looks pretty good with some nicks and scrapes on the grip frame. The gun frame has a nice plumb color with the loading gate almost a tan color.
The cylinder looks almost too good considering the nicks and scrapes on the grip frame but I don't see any rounding of the edges of the flutes. On the frame, the R in the Ruger and the .4 of the .44 are almost missing but the remainder of the lettering on the left of the frame is very crisp. The serial number on the right of the frame is very crisp with no rounded edges. The lettering on the barrel is also very crisp.
My question: Has anyone ever seen factory print that was struck lighter on one side or the other?
Will a reblue result in a plumb color?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I personally would not reblue it. I always liked the character and battle scars on older guns. I can't imagine rebluing will improve its value, except possibly to you. Which is what really matters. How you blue it, your time, and post-blue time should dictate the plumb color. You're not likely to get the original plumb color the second time around.

Post some pictures. I'd like to see it.

I'm no bluing expert. Others will probably have more helpful views.

Without seeing the gun, we can not determine if the gun was ever reblued or not. Yes,, it's possible to get odd striking on the markings of a gun.
And, back in the day, when guns started turning plum/purple colors,, some were returned to Ruger for rebluing. They came out fine,, but over time, turned color again. It has to do with the metal,,,!

I'll reblue a "shooter" but I won't reblue a "collector quality gun", even though it's a "rare sucker"! I just keep waiting for that time I can snag a decent version of the "collector quality" example.

I do not intend to reblue the Flattop, I am trying to determine if it has already been reblued.
I will try to post some pictures later. It is not collector quality but all Flattops are becoming
more scarce. It has the black rubber grips that I really like.

Re-read my post,,, some of Rugers guns were sent back to the factory for re-blue, as well as others have been done in the past. I'd get a qualified person who knows about blueing & re-bluing to carefully look the gun over. Or, as noted, post pics here & we'll try to help.
