Factory reblue

I see a lot of guys talk about a factory re-blue on a Ruger. Is there anyway that the factory marked their work when they re-blue a gun? Or is there a definite way to tell the work was done by Ruger and not just a regular Gun Smith? I know many times Smith and Weston would mark a factory blue or repair on the grip frame. Did Ruger do anything like this?

I've never seen any markings on any Ruger except for some early guns that were marked with an "S" or some such BUT that did not meant it was refinished, just that it went back or was reworked or redone, whatever and they stamped the frame, and they used an "U" for 'used"?? and agin may have went back through the system,,only a service invoice from them would tell you of any work the customer requested, and was billed for ( or maybe even warrented) and that paper work usually got pitched later oin and not go with the gun if sold, resold, whatever...other wise it is noticed by the actual refinish, color and polishing of the finsihed gun,,,there are "reblues" and there are "restorations" and if it "looks" reblued, it probably was, not so with a proper restoration......

note, many "new" guns today are more 'black' than 'blue",,,DIFFERENCE IN THE FORMULATIONS OF THE BLUING SOLUTIONS...........

I have had 1 Ruger re-blued by the factory and as far as I can tell they did not mark it.

I have had 1 Ruger re-blued by the factory and as far as I can tell they did not mark it.

I had a Ruger GP100 rebarreled by the factory and they replied the entire gun. Also didn't see any marking the factory did.
